ESSENTIAL CORING INVESTIGATIONS ON THE A77 BETWEEN THE HOLMSTON AND BANKFIELD ROUNDABOUTS COMMENCES THURSDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2023
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South-West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential coring investigations on the A77 between the Holmston and Bankfield Roundabouts in Ayr. The investigations are prior to resurfacing works being scheduled and will take place on Thursday 14th September and Friday 15th September 2023, between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
To undertake these investigations a closure of the A77 southbound carriageway at this location will be required with a signed diversion route in operation. Traffic intending to travel on the A77 southbound will be diverted via the third exit at Holmston Roundabout to join the A70, Holmston Road. From here, traffic will turn left on the A713, Castlehill Road and will be able to re-join the A77 at Bankfield Roundabout.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
