Halloween 2019

A SPOOCTACULAR night was had on Halloween when FHMCC lined Glencairn Park with fantastic carved pumpkins, scary witches and a terrifying Werewolf complete with horrible noises and music and decorations to welcome in Halloween. Our local children and their Mums and Dads had a great time in our Halloween Pumpkin Walk and waiting at the end was a witches cauldren full of goodies for our phenomenal guisers. Thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy the evening. A HUGE thanks to Holmston Primary Pupils, Parents and Teachers for their wonderful donation of superb carved pumpkins and a second HUGE thank you to the Pupils, Parents and Staff of Southcraig school for their fantastic carved pumpkins and fabulous hand made halloween decorations. We couldn't have done this without your help. Thanks also to Morrisons Ayr for their gift of vouchers and to local Resident Martina Major for her great pictures of the park. And finally thank you to our Community Councillors who gave hours of their time to set it up/dismantle it all and to our wonderful witches, Mary, Myra and Kay for volunteering their time. I think it's fair to say the the night was a huge success - everyone really enjoyed it, the park looked great, and it was so lovely to see our community come together and enjoy it all. Here's to next year's Halloween. Keep you eye on our page to find out what we are up to next.

Fundraiser and Psychic Night - 4th October 2019

What another great night of fun and fundraising at Forehill Bowling Club on 4th October when FHMCC were delighted to host an evening with Eppie Graham, Jacquie and Friends. Eppie and the ladies thrilled a packed hall with their messages and private readings, the atmosphere was really great and it's fair to say everyone went happily home after a night of great fun and awesome readings and messages. FHMCC thanks Eppie and her friends for their very generous donations to our funds - absolutely sterling ladies - thank you so much. Also huge thanks to all of our local residents who came along on the night for an evening full of fun and at times poignancy. It was great to see both weel kent faces and new.

There were 20 plus raffle prizes to be won and we would like to thank all local Residents and Community Councillors who handed in prizes. A big thank you too to our local businesses, Forehill Spar, Keystore, Oriental Kitchen, Stobbs the Baker, William Hill, Pollock Williamson, Forehill Café and Rowlands Pharmacy and Hillfoot Garage, Pandora Coffee Shop, Ayr and Willie Wastles, Ayr. Your continued support is very much appreciated and really helps raise funds.

Of course nothing would have happened without FHMCC's wonderful fund raising team, Samantha Laidlaw, Sarah Gamble, Mary Elliot and Sandra Taylor. You did it again Gals.

Thanks to Forehill Outdoor Bowling club for the use of their great premises (and bar). It's the ideal place for functions - if you are looking to hold an event you will not be disappointed with their venue.

Funds raised are used in a number of ways. This year we bought de-fib pads for our Forehill AED machine. We have a second De-fib machine at Hillfoot Road and both of these require to have the AED pads replaced every other year and of course after use. Replacing the pads cost £200 so some of our funds are earmarked for this. Other donations this year have included the Library's McMillan Nurses tea, Forehill Spar's dressing gown day for Marie Curie and various donations to local residents who put their best foot forward for, for example, the kilt walk. Any FHM Residents who are fundraising, and also local groups and charities, can contact FHMCC to request a donation. It's easy - come along to one of our meetings on the last Tuesday of the month between September and November and again between January and June, 7pm at Kyle Academy. Email secretary@fhmcc.org.uk text to 07935 169 749 or message us on our website http://www.fhmcc.org.uk/ or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FHMCCAYR/ You can also read our meeting minutes on our website and FB pages and on our notice boards sited at Forehill Library, Holmston Primary (Dongola Road side) and Castlehill Woods main gates.

FHMCC is here to help our community where possible. On the immediate horizon, a spooky walk round Glencairn Park on Halloween Night is planned. Completion of the new path in Castlehill Woods is also on the agenda. What a difference the path has made for everyone who likes a walk in the woods. The path and drainage were laid by FHM Community Cllrs John McGuire, Dougie Smith and Ian McPherson, SAC Cllr Chris Cullen and local volunteers. We also have plans in the autumn to plant spring bulbs around our area to make it even brawer and are talking to SAC's Community Officer regarding possible activities for our local youngsters during the winter months.
